No source gives exactly where it stands, so it is placed by convention: its middle on the middle of the infield, where the line from first base to third crosses the line from home plate to second, and its length across the field from first base to third. Part of the rink, 36 percent of its area, lies outside the outline of Busch Stadium. A ballpark's outline is the fair ground inside the fence, so a surface over the infield reaches into foul ground.
