Surfaces through the years
year draws a surface as the rules marked it in a season, named by the year it starts in: 1979 is the 1979–80 season of the NHL and the NBA, 1974 the 1974 season of the NFL, the CFL and baseball. Without a year the surface is today's (ERA_CURRENT); the IFAF's has none. Every change is cited in sources.md and listed below, one row to a marking; what could not be cited is in references.md. eraChanges(sport) lists the changes as data with a sentence in English and in Japanese.
A change "from 1979" holds for 1979 and every season after, until another.
